Ghost Town
A downloadable game for Windows
Ghost Town
Roused from a deep sleep, you look around you only to find a bleak forlorn forest, speckled with gravestones and empty bottles. It's the underworld, and you're its latest arrival. Traverse this valley of perdition and befriend the locals, lost, damned, and inebriated as they may be, in order to find a way back to your old life on the surface world.
About
My name is Paris, and I like to make games in my free time. One of those games is Ghost Town, a puzzle-adventure game created with GB Studio. Although I'm excited to show off the game, I must note that it's currently unfinished! So, with that said, I present to you the first act of Ghost Town for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This demo includes the first act of the game, with a runtime of approximately 45-60 minutes. If you would like to follow the development of the game, you can find me on Twitter. Feel free to say hi.
Controls
Ghost Town can be played with either the arrow keys or WASD. The full controls are as follows:
- Arrow Keys or WASD: Move
- Z or J: Select / Interact
- X or K: Back
- Enter: Start
- Tab: Toggle Fullscreen
Notice
Ghost Town is purely a hobby project, and is not an officially licensed title for any video game console. This game is made with love and out of admiration of the classic consoles and games of my childhood. Also, this build of the game uses nw.js to run as a self-contained executable, hence the somewhat large file size. I will work to reduce this bloat in future releases. With that said, enjoy the game, and thanks for checking it out.
Update (04/02/2021):
Downloads are currently available for the first chapter of the game, but please note that the remainder of this project has been put on hold indefinitely.

super cute and charming! big fan of how the characters were written, and how the simple art still effectively conveys the enviornment (though, i gotta admit that the sliding box puzzles do get kinda grating as they go on)
Thanks for your kind words! I'm taking the time to ensure that the next installation in the story has more varied puzzle/gameplay elements.
Looks super cute Paris! Any thoughts of releasing the .gb rom? I'd love to throw it on an emulator or flashcart.
